A message from Sonny Hunt, Nashville Tennessee

Since last Summer, I've been working on writing some instrumentals.
I'm working with a good friend of mine, Brad Vosburg, who owns Fox Mountain Productions in Brentwood, Tn.  Brad has Pro Tools and all the new high tech recording equipment, and for sure knows how to use it.

We began with basic tracks on drums, bass and scratch guitar on three ideas. A couple of them are ideas I've had for a few years,  along with a brand new Rocker titled Whippersnapper! I hope to make a lot of head way on this project during the Winter.

I'm currently playing with a blues band out of Nashville named  The Hunter Johnson Band. We've been playing some smaller venues around town, with a songlist full of Traditional Rocking Blues, along with some Classic Rock back in the 70's and 80's.

I've also been playing with The PF Flyers when I'm in Arkansas,  along with other friends that gig here and there. A good time  is always had by all!

And as always, I'm looking forward to our DWB Tour 2013 this coming March and April. We're going to Rock the house, and have a great time doing so!

It will be great to see all my Holland friends. It's been too long!

2012 Spring Holland Tour review from Sonny

During our 2012 Spring Holland Tour of Sonny Hunt and the Dirty White Boys, I'm proud to say that I feel as though every show we performed was a success! Even though attendance was a little diminished at a couple of our shows, the audience that was there was very enthusiastic and seemed to have a great time!

The majority of our shows were performed by the same musicians as our last two tours except for Nick Loman, who did a wonderful job playing Drums during this tour. Along with Nick, the rest of the DWB did an outstanding job as well! So Dank U Wel to Dick, Rory, and Leif!

The band had the pleasure of a few special guests during this tour beginning with a talented beautiful young female vocalist named Lana DK. She performed most of the shows during this tour with us and after listening and watching her perform, I'd say that Lana DK should have a promising future in front of her as a Singer and Entertainer!

We also had a special guest on guitar at Muziekcafe Wallies
in Harmelen on April 7th. A special Dank U to 14 year old Filip Schrijver for playing with us! We all had a great time and enjoyed listening to Filip play, Wow!
We also had a couple of drummers sit in with us during the tour. Jeroen van Santen performed with us on March 31st at Artishock in Soest, and Efraim de Nijs performed with us on April 7th at Muziekcafe Wallies in Harmelen, Which was also the same night Filip Schrijver performed. It was a real pleasure playing with these fine young musicians! We had a great time and I hope we can perform together again sometime in the near future!

In closing, I would have to say this tour was one of the
easier ones I've done in a while. Everyone was on top of their game and well prepared. We all had a lot of fun visiting with one another, then doing what we love, playing music!!

Sonny Hunt and The Dirty White Boys wish you all a GREAT 2012 with hopefully a lot of happiness,
health and musical pleasure!
The past year was very successful with the release of the live CD “Hitting The Noot” and the tour around that release in January/February . The 2nd tour followed in May/June and for the first time the band played on several big Festivals like Highlands Blues and Grolsch Int. Jazz Festival in Enschede.
These shows were a great success and for Sonny Hunt enough reason to travel to Holland again for the 1st tour in 2012, which will start end of March. Bass player, Dick Stam, recovered from his heart attack during the last tour and of course guitar talents Rory de Kievit and Leif de Leeuw will be present again. Only drummer, Han Nijenhuis, gave notice not to be available for a while so a new drummer will join the band. We will announce the new drummer as soon as possible.
Also the band  will surprise everybody with  a great new show. One of the suprises will be a guest performance of a young talent, Lana. This 19 year old singer will release her first CD this year and although she normally sings in a totally different genre, she will definitely stand up for herselve  with the bluesrock of Sonny Hunt and The Dirty White Boys.

The first show will take place on March, the 31st in Artishock/Soest and shows will follow in Alkmaar, Dordrecht and Den Bosch. Also the band will perform on Springblues in Estrado, a great venue in Harderwijk. Check the agenda for all information.
